  • Embankment reconstruction will be completed by December 1

  • Vologda’s Mayor Yevgeny Shulepov inspected construction of the most important facility of tourist infrastructure and discussed the possibility of acceleration of pace with the contractor. It is worth reminding that the Prechistenskaya Embankment is being beautified within the framework of the project “Nason-City” thanks to the federal means.

The area has been completely changed during several months. A part of the river bank has been pebbled; the viewing platform and the stairs leading to the water have been made. One pavement along the buildings has been paved with cubes. It is planned to build one more. It will be divided from the main road with a green zone. The first headwall on the lower level has been erected. The workers have driven over 300 piles and laid the concrete foundation – it is a part of the bank protection. It is the most labour-intensive process that is reaching the final stage now.

It was initially intended to put the object into service till December 25, but on the instructions of Vologda’s Mayor Yevgeny Shulepov, all construction and beautification work in the embankment will be completed by December 1.

“We plan that over 700 thousand guests will visit our city this year. To make it attractive, first of all, we should put in order the central part of Vologda that tourists visit. Now we are reconstructing a part of the embankment within the framework of the project “Nason-City”, said Vologda’s Mayor Yevgeny Shulepov.

The new embankment is to become one of the most beautiful places in the central part of the regional capital. It will harmoniously supplement this historical corner of ancient Vologda. It is planned that the project “Nason-City” will unite the key sights into a single cluster and thus will strengthen the tourism appeal of Vologda.
